While AI can be a useful tool in certain areas of education, its limitations become apparent when applied to situations that require creative problem-solving or nuanced, open-ended responses. AI offers little help for teachers that rely heavily on project-based or activity-based learning (e.g., Performing Arts, Fine Arts and Physical Education). Regardless of discipline, feedback using artificial intelligence is better suited for lower-level thinking skills—those in which the answer is simple. For example, the date of the American Civil war or the answer to a multiplication problem. When the answer is simple or the solution to a problem is straightforward, AI can quickly provide acceptable answer. However, when there are multiple acceptable responses, AI might not have the proper context to provide the best answer. formative and summative feedback
